Shipping Policy

SPJ Teak Furniture is committed to delivering high-quality teak furniture safely and efficiently to customers worldwide. This Shipping Policy explains our shipping procedures, responsibilities, and delivery terms.

1. Order Processing

Production begins after:

  • Order confirmation;

  • Approval of product specifications or drawings (if applicable);

  • Receipt of the agreed deposit payment.

Production lead times vary depending on product type, order quantity, customization requirements, and production capacity.

2. Production Lead Time

Estimated production times are provided in the quotation or Proforma Invoice.

Production schedules are estimates and may vary due to:

  • Material availability;

  • Custom manufacturing requirements;

  • National holidays;

  • Production capacity;

  • Force majeure events.

We will notify customers promptly if significant delays occur.

3. Shipping Methods

SPJ Teak Furniture primarily ships products via international sea freight.

Depending on customer requirements, shipments may be arranged as:

  • Full Container Load (FCL)

  • Less than Container Load (LCL)

  • Air freight (for samples or selected items)

The shipping method will be confirmed before shipment.

4. Shipping Terms

International shipments are conducted according to the Incoterms agreed upon in the Sales Agreement or Proforma Invoice, including but not limited to:

  • EXW (Ex Works)

  • FOB (Free On Board)

  • CFR (Cost and Freight)

  • CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight)

The applicable Incoterm determines the transfer of risk, responsibility, and shipping costs.

5. Shipping Documents

Where applicable, SPJ will provide the necessary export documentation, which may include:

  • Commercial Invoice

  • Packing List

  • Bill of Lading

  • Certificate of Origin (if requested)

  • Phytosanitary or fumigation documents (where required)

  • Other export documents as agreed

Additional documentation requested by the customer may incur extra charges.

6. Delivery Time

Estimated shipping times depend on:

  • Destination country;

  • Shipping line schedules;

  • Port congestion;

  • Customs clearance;

  • Weather conditions;

  • Government regulations.

Delivery estimates are provided for reference only and are not guaranteed.

7. Customs & Import Duties

The buyer is responsible for:

  • Import duties;

  • Customs clearance;

  • Taxes;

  • VAT/GST;

  • Local government fees;

  • Import permits required by the destination country.

Customers should verify their country's import regulations before placing an order.

8. Inspection Before Shipment

Customers may appoint an independent third-party inspection company before shipment.

Unless otherwise agreed, shipment approval indicates acceptance of the products' condition and specifications.

9. Shipment Tracking

Where available, shipping details, including container numbers, Bill of Lading information, or tracking references, will be provided after shipment.

Tracking availability depends on the shipping carrier.

10. Delivery Delays

SPJ is not responsible for delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Customs inspections;

  • Port congestion;

  • Shipping line delays;

  • Natural disasters;

  • Government actions;

  • Labor strikes;

  • Transportation disruptions.

11. Risk of Loss

Risk of loss or damage transfers to the buyer according to the agreed Incoterms specified in the sales contract.

Customers are encouraged to obtain cargo insurance when appropriate.

12. Damaged Shipments

Upon receiving the shipment, customers should inspect the goods immediately.

If visible damage is found:

  • Note the damage on the carrier's delivery receipt;

  • Take photographs before unpacking;

  • Notify both the shipping carrier and SPJ within 7 calendar days.

Failure to report damage within this period may affect claim eligibility.

13. Incorrect Shipping Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping and consignee information.

SPJ is not responsible for delays or additional costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete shipping details provided by the customer.
